The Eve of NCASC17 -PSW Fringe. Who is Leading the Way?

The Adult PSW Network have this year decided to hold a fringe event on the Eve of NCASC 17, Social Cares biggest conference of the year. The focus the fringe is to reflect on any major issues or challenges that attendees think are important, discuss them and share them as a message for NCAS conference attendees. We have invited not just NCAS conference goers but also local user led organisations, social workers, academics and students. We will also be releasing our new Intro Report – Who is Leading the Way Fringe report (4)

As many PSWs have not had the opportunity to attend NCAS with their local authority we held a pre fringe session and asked them to shape the messages they would like to share with conference. Throughout the three days of NCAS we will share all of these messages via Twitter and ask that attendees consider them and discuss them in the various sessions and events that will take place.

We would like to thank BASW and Skills for Care for their support in sponsoring the event as well as an anonymous support who has helped make this happen (you know who you are and we are very grateful)

We would also like to thank the speakers who have given up their time to support the Fringe and share their messages for NCASC17

Richard Humphries, Lyn Romeo, Sharon Allen, Natasha Sloman, Clenton Farquharson, Lisa Smith.

The Adult PSW network will also take the opportunity of the Fringe to release its new introductory report on the make up of social work / social care leadership. This links with one of our work plan initiatives for 2017 and paints what we believe is a worrying picture for the make up of statutory  Social Care leadership across England.

This will be our message for NCASC 17  – You can find the report here.Fringe report (4)

We hope you enjoy the fringe and please join us via twitter as we publicize the conversations and challenges. We may even live broadcast?
